Biography

*Dax Vibez*, whose real name is *Ivan Bugembe Ssentamu*, is a
Ugandan singer, songwriter, performer, and recording artist known for his
distinctive blend of *Afrobeat, Dancehall, Reggae, and contemporary Ugandan
sounds*. He comes from a prominent musical family and is the younger
brother of Ugandan musician and political figure *Robert Kyagulanyi
Ssentamu, popularly known as Bobi Wine*.

Growing up in a family deeply connected to music, Dax Vibez was exposed to
the creative world from an early age. However, he has worked to establish
an identity of his own rather than relying solely on his family’s
reputation. In interviews, he has spoken openly about the pressure of being
compared with his successful brothers and the determination required to
prove himself as an independent artist.

Dax Vibez initially developed his sound around *Dancehall and Reggae*, but
his musical journey has evolved considerably over time. He has explained
that his early experience with Dancehall was challenging, eventually
inspiring him to explore softer, more melodic and love-oriented music. This
transition became an important part of his artistic development and helped
him connect with a broader audience.

One of the major turning points in Dax Vibez’s career came with *“Believe,”*
his collaboration with Ugandan singer *Vinka*. Released in 2023, the song
became a major success and helped introduce Dax Vibez to a wider audience.
The collaboration was produced by *Nessim*, with its music video directed
by *Aaronaire*.

Following the success of “Believe,” Dax Vibez continued building momentum
with a series of popular releases and collaborations. His catalog includes
songs such as *“Mayumba Kkumi,” “Nyweza,” “It Is Okay,” “Tabbu,” “At My
Door,” “Ku Sure,” “Good Idea,” “Human Form,” “Fantasy,” “Akati,”* and
*“Onzise.”* His collaborations have included artists such as *Ava Peace,
Azawi, Elijah Kitaka, Laika, Jowy Landa, and Rema Namakula*.

His collaboration with *Mowzey Radio* on *“Mayumba Kkumi”* is another
notable part of his musical catalog, while more recent collaborations such
as *“Tabbu” with Ava Peace*, *“Ku Sure” with Azawi*, and *“Good Idea” with
Elijah Kitaka* have further demonstrated his versatility and ability to
work across different sounds.

Dax Vibez has also emphasized the importance of collaboration in his
creative process. He says that his choice of collaborators is influenced
largely by the relationship and creative energy he shares with an artist,
rather than simply choosing collaborators based on their popularity.

As his career has grown, Dax Vibez has increasingly established himself as
an artist capable of standing independently from his family’s musical
legacy. His 2025 rise was particularly notable, with media personality *Canary
Mugume* describing him as Uganda’s top musician at the time, following the
success of releases including “Tabbu,” “At My Door,” and “Ku Sure.”

In 2026, Dax Vibez continued expanding his musical catalog with releases
including *“Aeiou,” “Onzise” with Rema Namakula,* and *“Fantasy” with Jowy
Landa*. He has also spoken about eventually transitioning from performing
to *artist management*, expressing an interest in discovering, developing,
and supporting young Ugandan talent.

With his evolving sound, strong family musical heritage, growing catalog,
and determination to build his own legacy, *Dax Vibez has established
himself as one of Uganda’s notable contemporary artists*. His journey
continues to demonstrate a commitment to musical growth, collaboration, and
creating a distinct identity within Uganda’s competitive entertainment
industry.
